Pierre Giroux

Pierre Giroux, BA, MSW, MPA, recently retired as a planning and educational consultant with Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology.
During his distinguished career of some 30 years with Algonquin College, he has held positions of professor, program coordinator and chairperson.
Giroux’s leadership achievements have included managing change and transition; conceiving training approaches; facilitating strategic planning and strategic management; fashioning new organizational structures; designing and delivering training programs; launching development programs; coordinating training program activities; developing ‘train the trainer’ programs; influencing and planning strategic human resource development; and organizing regional training programs. He served as a director of Colleges Ontario’s Leadership Development Institute and is the coordinator of the Governor’s Orientation Program.
He has extensive experience in organizing, facilitating and conducting consultations in a joint labour/management committee structure. As a project leader, he has initiated collaborative working relationships with college management, constituents and stakeholders to achieve the optimum results for all concerned.
