The Bologna Process is designed to make academic degree standards and quality assurance standards more comparable and compatible across Europe to promote student choice, course recognition and smoother transferability. Speakers will discuss the origins of the initiative, the progress to date and lessons learned about postsecondary system design changes that could be applied to Ontario.

  • the reasons for the importance of a strong international student base;
  • the key issues a country faces in developing a national strategy including the development of an education brand;
  • successful initiatives happening in Australia and the U.K. and their application in the Ontario context; and
  • government initiatives in the various jurisdictions to promote the export of education.
